Definition

A residential care facility designed primarily for older people who typically have no serious health problems but who may have chronic or debilitating conditions requiring assistance with daily activities. Permitted services include but are not limited to staff-supervised meals, housekeeping and personal care, medication supervision, and social activities. Both private and shared sleeping rooms may be provided. Facilities providing regular care under supervision of physicians are not considered assisted living facilities.

Use regulations

Assisted living facilities shall be subject to the following provisions: (1) Safe areas for pick-up and discharge of users shall be provided that do not interfere with the free flow of traffic on adjacent streets; and (2) Assisted living facilities shall be licensed as such by the Business License Center in accordance with Chapter 44 of this Code.
